Very Celebrated Snow Day

So in one week we had:
Monday - 60 degree beautiful day
Tuesday - Tonado warnings
Wednesday - High dangerous winds
Thursday - 15 degree temps and snow
Friday - no school

Such a great morning to wake up and see snow AND have it be a snow day.  at 6:00 am I checked school closing - usually we still have school but today it said - CLOSED!

One of my biggest worries is that Devon has to drive to seminary in the snow.  Last year they didn't have any snow days even thought there was one day with snow - luckily the roads were fine and it gave Devon a chance to develop some confidence driving in the snow ... but that was a year ago.  This year we've had two prior snow days where school wasn't delayed or canceled, but the roads were completely clear both times.  Today, the plows had been out, but it wasn't enough.  SNOW covered the roads.

I was so happy to tell Devon, Marissa and Robert they could sleep in.  It was much needed and deserved sleep!  YEAH!  I went back to bed too!

After a nice sleep in, I made waffles and bacon for breakfast!  YUM!  We had a great day hanging around the house.  There wasn't enough snow to enjoy sledding, but it was nice to have fun family time inside.

Saturday we woke to more snow.  Luckily by the mid day the roads were clear (although they were a miss at 9:30 when Devon and I had to drive - he to work, and I taking Robert to a futsal game).  In the afternoon I went to see the movie "Impossible."  It was a true story of one families account of the tidal wave that hit Thailand in 2004.  What they endured and how they came to fine each other was a miracle.  A true miracle.
