Awesome Indoor Soccer

Today, on the way to Robert's game I asked him to set some goals for himself.  As we talked he decided he wanted to try to score two (2) goals and have one (1) assist and play good soccer.  Sounded good to me!

We thought we were running late because we had to get all of his Priesthood meeting clothing in the car and all of his soccer gear, but we were the first to arrive for the team.  Robert warmed up as everyone else arrived.

The game started at 4:00 pm.  Robert was the first to score a goal.  1-0.  Then the Tree Huggers scored.   1-1.  The Tree Huggers are the first team we played in this High School League (it's the time Robert's knee was really hurt).  Then Nathan scored for us - and Robert scored again!  Wow, maybe the campout didn't hurt him physically at all.  He's on fire!  3-1 us!!!  Against a high school team!  YEAH!!!  But then the Tree Huggers came right back with 2 goals.  By half time the score is 4-4.

The whole game was just like that.  We'd score and then they'd score right back.  5-5 … 6-6 … with Robert scoring a third goal and having two assists!  Way to go.  Robert did a hat trick.  Robert goes out of the game, and then the Tree Huggers scored two more to end the game 8-6.

We played excellent!  I think we just tired out at the end, but it was a very exciting game and everyone did a great job.  We had lots of shots on goalie!  Way to go TEAM!!!

We were going to have to pull Robert at 4:45 to make it to a Priesthood meeting by 5:00 but Mark texted me to say Robert didn't need to be there until 5:15.  That was awesome because it was a chance for Robert to finish and get that last goal.

It would be his third goal

I had promised Robert a chocolate shake if he met his goals - well, he exceeded them, so off to McDonald's we went before heading to the Stake Center for his meeting.
