Devon & Robert's church basketball game #3

After a long cold night camping Robert & Devon had a basketball game at 11:00 am.  Devon didn't go on the campout, but Robert did.  Robert actually had to decide between playing for the YMCA team and the church team and chose to play for the church.  It was a good decision since his team at the YMCA blew the other team away.  20-2. 

At the start of the game it looked like we were not going to have enough boys.  With only 5 minutes before the game Robert and Devon were the only ones there.  Then Trevor showed, Jay and a friend, Chance.  We have enough to start.  Ben came later in the game - so did Derek but he came with extremely muddy shoes.  I tired to clean his shoes but they were covered wtith sticky mud. 

Devon takes the jump and Robert usually brings the ball up.  We were off to a very poor start 16-6 at the end of the 1st quarter.  By the end of the second quarter we were only down by 4 and held them to only 4 points: 20-16.  Then in the third quarter we came within 1 point of tying up the game when Robert was pushed to the floor and ran off the court.  (which he can't do).

After Robert went out, the other team scored 6 points in a row.  At the same time Robert went out of the game (he came back in a little later), Devon fouled out.  It was a close game but then the other team pulled ahead.  It was the most competitive game we've had - in that we were so close to winning.   This is especially good considering half the boys were still tired from the "Frost Campout".
