Court of Honor

Wednesday, October 12 was Court of Honor for Troop 170 in Crestwood, KY.
We had 19 scouts (out of 26) and all of them in uniform (I think it's a first).

This is a very exciting Court of Honor for the Lowe boys because they have been working diligently at scouting requirements.

Robert - 12
Robert was presented with 12 Merit badges including:  art, astronomy, citizen in the nation, communications, emergency preparedness, fire safety, fishing, fish & wildlife, personal fitness, public speaking, swimming, and water sports.

Robert earned the Rank of Life
He was also presented with his Life Rank.  Now that he has achieve the rank of Life, he can start working on his Eagle.  It's crazy to think that he is only 12 1/2 years old and already working towards his Eagle.  He has great leaders and great fellow scouts that support and encourage each other.  So proud of you Robert for achieving so much.

Devon was also awarded the Aviation merit badge from his high adventure trip, plus six Varsity pins:  backpacking, basketball, caving, canoeing, hiking, oreinteering, and soccer.

Devon - 16
He was also awarded the highest award as a Varsity scout back in July 2010 - the Denali award.  It takes a concerted and dedicated effort to achieve this award and honor.  He had to do a service project, physical sport, high adventure and demonstrate spiritual growth.

Devon became a Venture scout in January 2011.  Since then he set a goal to earn his Bronze, Gold and Silver award (the Silver being the highest you can receive as a Venture).  With Devon already being so very active in his religious beliefs and practices, he was able to accomplish the first part of his goal by earning the Religious Bronze award.  He is now motivated to earn his Gold before his 17th birthday.

I wish I got a picture of Robert and Devon together.  Congratulations to both of them and all the other boys.  All of Robert's den also received their Life Rank advancement.  It was a great night!
