After the bad loss in soccer to Nelson County, Robert's soccer team had a mandatory practice on Monday and one tentatively scheduled for Tuesday ... that created a huge conflict for Robert.
He didn't know until Monday, but he was slotted to play for the NOHS Tennis team on Tuesday at Southern High School.
Decisions Decsions
Robert is new to the tennis team, and only has limited times he can play (essentially Tuesday and Thursdays) because he dedicates Monday and Wednesday for soccer, so when he has tennis and it's a Tuesday - he should stay true to it and be there for his tennis team HOWEVER after his team lost so poorly at their last games, and wanting to continue to be a key player and show dedication to that team, Robert doesn't want to miss that practice either. What to do???
Well, the weather is calling for rain sooooo, we agreed for Robert to go to the tennis match, and emailed his soccer coach that there was a 50/50 chance he would have to miss practice. We got so lucky - soccer canceled the practice due to dangerous field conditions so Robert was able to go to the tennis match.
Since Marissa also had a school commitment (and our car is in the shop) I had Robert get a ride with Aiden to the match, and Mark would meet him there to see the games.
Robert did GREAT! He played singles this time. The games went like this ...
Robert 1-0
Robert 2-0
Robert up 3-0
Robert up 4-0
WAY TO GO ROBERT! Then the games got called for rain (but it only sprinkled and only for a few minutes). Mark was disappointed. Robert was disappointed, too. He wanted to finish.
The games ended - Robert won!!!
