Robert's game against Nelson County

UGLY - the word for this game.

There is just confusion as to how this game got out of hand - too many confusing thoughts - it should have never ended like this - the reverse prossibly but not like this - let's go back ...

Game time starts at 1:00 pm.

Robert starts on the right wing.  He is doing great.  He's getting rid of the ball before an opponant approaches, he's making good passes to his teammates.  We are playing very well especially considering our losses in Memphis.

We are possessing the ball 90% of the time.  Then out of nowhere, the Nelson county (NC) player shots from 30 ft out (or more) and Alex misses the catch - Goal Nelson county.  Okay - let's get it back.

That's exactly what KFJ did.  Robert received a pass from Ian, Robert passed it up to Tanner and Tanner drove to the box - shot and scored!  TIE game!  1-1  We are right back in it.

We have the momentum and KFJ is controlling the ball most of the time, but then NC scores on a corner kick (Robert had deflected it with a header, but then it bounced around and came back and Alex didn't go for it).  The coaches were going crazy on Alex, "Use your hand," and "Catch the ball!"

KFJ doesn't let it get them down,  We have several shots on goal - Robert drives but the goalie gets to it first, same with Tanner... actually several shots or shots on goal, but no goals.  Robert is subbed out.

Almost immediately after he went out, Alex came out too far, and the NC player dribbled past him for a goal.  It was just a bad judgement. 3-1

4-1 came quickly after the third goal - Ryan P was clearing the ball, it went straight to a NC player that headed it into the goal so fast that Alex didn't have a chance to react in time.  So unfortunately.  Everyone is getting really down.

Before the half - Sam fouled a NC player about 30 feet out - just outside the box and he scored on it because the ball hit the crossbar but it came down inside the goal box and a NC player just tapped it in.  It was so sad to watch because Alex was just standing there watching the ball instead of trying to defend the goal.

HALF TIME - we are down 5-1.  CRAZY, this is NC - we should be up 5-1.

Robert starts the second half.  He and Tanner are on fire.  Michael takes two shots but both are wide.  Robert takes a shot but it's wide, Tanner takes a shot but it's caught by the gaolie.

There was another foul, exactly like the 5-1 goal, NC scores on this free kick too.  CRAZY!!!  Alex WAKE UP!!!!  The score is getting out of control 6-1 WOW

Robert did a great job he even got another shot off (it was wide to the right) before he is subbed out.  Unfortunately after that NC really took advantage of us feeling down.  A NC player got possession, dribbled past Sam, dribbled past a second defender and a third defender before taking a shot on goal - and SCORING - OUTRAGEOUS.  we are now at 7-1 against a team that we have always beaten and should beat today.  Some of the parents are wanting the game to stop but there is still another 10 minutes of play.  All I can think is, "Come on, pull yourselves together."

Well, the misery continued.  NC scored another goal (mainly because we were down) and didn't clear the ball from the box with any passion - they got control and scored.  Alex didn't come out to get the ball.  I guess earlier he got burned doing it.  A goalie has to know when to go and when to stay.  We are still learning.

Just as I was saying OUTLOAD, "Come on FIRE, let's get a goal!" Garrett received a corner kick and headed it into the goal - WOW a GOAL for us.  The score is now 8-2.  YEAH!!!  That's where the game ended.

Final score - Loss 8-2 against a team that we should have beat.
