Last game of the Season - away vs CAL

May 2, 2017

Final game of the season is against Christian Academy Louisville (CAL), a long time rival to NOHS.  For being a Christian academy, they demonstrate the worst "good" sportsmanship of any of the schools we played the whole season (even St. X and Trinity).

Robert is playing 2nd doubles with Jack Stewart.  During the first doubles match, the CAL fans were rude and unruly.  YIKES!  Robert and Jack knew exactly how to make them quiet - WIN every point.

Straight from the start - they were focused and determined.  Robert and Jack dominated the game from start to finish.  The CAL fans very quickly quieted down.  They dominated the match 6-0, and again 6-0.  It was a great way to end the regular season and head into regionals.

Congratulations to NOHS on another great win.  We took the match 3-2!!!

Champions on Senior Night

Senior Night

Boys Varsity Team:  David, Simrod, Jordan Henley, Robert Lowe, Grant Anderson, Aiden Kuhn, Mitch Zuberi, Jack Dugan, Jack Stewart and Eli Wood.

SENIORS:  Jack Stewart, Mitch Zuberi, Katherine Kelly, Robert Lowe, Jack Dugan, Aiden Kuhn, not shown:  Prateek

Tonight is the last night before regionals, and it's senior night.  Everyone wants to win, but sometimes that can add just a little too much pressure ... but not for these guys.  Robert and Mitch were selected for 2nd doubles.  Robert and Mitch have never played together as double partners.  Mitch is very talented.  Both Robert and Mitch played excellent in their games, winning both sets 6-1, 6-1.

Oh -yeah!

It would have been great to see Robert and Mitch play together more often during the season.  They played very well together.

Away vs St. Xavier - not a scrimmage

Robert and Aiden play doubles together again.  It is a very nice night for tennis.  We are away at the St. X courts - this time it's Varsity.

Robert and Aiden are playing a great game, but the opponent keeps stepping over the line = like really!!!  I brought it to the attention of the coach and he really didn't do anything about it, but it was every time the guys served.

team line up

Robert and Aiden

REALLY!!!!

Robert and Aiden were up their first match 4-3, but then it started to rain - where did that come from.  The set ended early.

Robert has really improved his serve.  He has also learned to control his shot better.  I am so proud of him for playing hard even in adverse circumstances.

Away vs Western Hills

It was a great night for Tennis.  Robert and Aiden played doubles together.  It was a little intimidating because it was Western Hills Senior night and there was a ton of support for their players.

Robert and Aiden stayed focus and won both sets:  6-1, 6-1!!!

Way to go guys!!!

Tennis at home vs Franklin

NOHS courts!  Robert and Aiden played 2nd doubles.  They had great weather for the game.  It was a perfect day.  They also played well together.  They won game, set and match!!!

All in - Let's go NOHS

Grant, Ryan, Jack Dugan and Jack Stewart supporting Robert and Aiden

Robert has good focus

Shannen came to watch.  It was so nice to see her support Robert.

Shannen is the one on the left - you can't see her face

Collins Tennis at Clear Creek Park

3/28/17

Robert played doubles for the first time with Simrod.  They won their first game 6-1.  It was a blow out.  It got their confidence up ... not sure if that was a good thing.  Crazy enough, the Collins team came back little by little from loss of focus.  Not to be critical, but I will say, Robert continued to be focus and determined to win, it was very frustrating for him when his team lost the point.  He played a very consistent game.
In the end, the game went to a tie breaker because NOHS lost the second set.  Too close for comfort.

This was the last game before Spring Break.

Robert Plays St. X again

This morning was colder than expected.

Robert played number 1 Singles against the St. X team that didn't go to the Chattanooga tournament.  St. X has been state champions for several years in a row (7-8).  Robert played a great game, stayed with it one for one each game, but in the end the St. X player got the last shot and final point.  Robert never gave up!  Great job!!!

Match against Trinity at Top Gun

Trinity is ranked highly in the state.  Robert played third singles against Ryan Biddle.  Ryan used to go to North.

It was a great match. Robert fought for every point. He lost the first set 6-4, and won the second set 6-4 so it went to a tie breaker.  Sadly, Robert lost the tie breaker, but he played a great game.  We were so proud of him.  He had a great match that could have gone either way.
