Subbing 5 days in a row

On Monday I was sitting in the NOHS PTSA meeting and got a phone call from the school. Thinking it might be about one of my kids I answered. It was the office manager at NOMS asking if I could come work the rest of the day. I politely excused myself from the meeting and subbed for Mr. Ray - Band teacher the rest of the day.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I subbed at NOHS as a Language Arts teacher for Freshman and Juniors. Both classes were very interesting. The freshman had just finished a unit on the Odyssey, so we watched the DVD (modern version). It was very entertaining and well done. The juniors are starting on Early American writing. We read Thomas Paine's Common Sense and the compared it to Glenn Beck's Common Sense. Both great reads and very appropriate for today's political climate.

Friday I sub at NOMS for the Drama teacher. Interesting week. Very busy - but love being around the kids.
