Robert runs at the Dragon Invitational

From Robert's soccer game at Oxmoor fields, I drove Robert directly to Oldham County HS to run in the South Oldham Dragon Invitational.  He was resting in the car on the way there, and I could tell he was exhausted.  He played most of the game which was in constant motion.

At 4:55 the race started.  Robert got a good start, but not as good as usual.  Then the 4Kcourse takes the runners out into the woods until they return for the finish on the track.  There isn't much chance to see them in the middle.

Robert and Nolan Ruggles approach the finish.  Robert looks really tired.  There is only 300 meters to go around the track.

It looks like Robert is sprinting ahead, but at the very last second Nolan passes him.  Robert finished 13th and 5th for the team with a time of 15:37.  This is very impressive considering he had spent the night at a campout, played almost an entire game of soccer and ran a long difficult course.  Robert was disappointed with his time.

Our team finished in 1st place.  Logan, Matthew, Nick, Nolan and Robert were the top five runners.
Robert was the only one around when it was time for the award ceremony.  The coach told him to keep the trophy and bring it to practice on Monday.
