NOHS - Devon runs Varsity

Today Devon's team is running at the Timble County held at the Trimble Recreational Facility Park.  It is a difficult and very hilly coarse.  Robert has run here before, but not Devon.  

Devon's team arrived around 12:00 and set up.  Just before the JV team ran they did their traditional team huddle and chant.  It's quite impressive.  N… O …   Today is an extremely cold day - starting in the low 40s and only making it up to the low 50s by the time of his race (if that).

Devon ran in the Varsity race which is awesome!  It will give him a chance at receiving a Varsity letter, but it is not expected because Devon's team is just so good.  They have been state champions 3 out of the last 4 years.  This pictures is at the start of the race.  Devon said he had a hard time because the weather was so cold that the air hurt his lungs.

This coarse is so difficult - they go back into the woods and circle around, there are so many hills, big and small.  Here Devon is on an up hill stretch.

Devon and Robert at the award's ceremony.  Devon came in at 18:49 in 16th place.  He was 9th for his team.
