Tennis is a HIT

Haha - pardon the pun, but if you only knew the struggle it was just to get Robert to TRY tennis for the North Oldham tennis team, you would just be in shock.

All week long Betsy has been dropping hints that Robert should give Tennis is try, no big deal - one way of the other - take it or leave it - but at least give it a try - see if you like it.  RIGHT!

It came to a climax on Sunday night when, Robert's parents (us) wanted him to go to tennis on Monday, and he didn't.  He whined and complained.  He accused us of all sorts of fictitious claims and in the end we just told him it was his choice.  We asked him to pray about it and consider what would he have to lose if he just gave it a try, vs not trying at all and never knowing.  Robert went to bed determined to have a bad attitude and bad feelings despite our confirmation of our love for him.

Although the night was intense, it was calm and peaceful on our part.  We just kept asking Robert to consider it.

Well, call me CRAZY but a week after Robert gave it a try, Robert said (quite openly) that he really likes tennis - BLOW me over!!!

I'm so happy.  I had a feeling he would like it and I really wanted him to learn to have an open mind to righteous ideas.  You never know!!!
