Adela's baptism

Wow we had a killer week this week! We got 28 new investigators and had 13 of them go to church this past week which was awesome! And of course we had Adela's baptism on Saturday which is actually a long story... Ok so the day before her baptism we were going to all our appointment's just doing our missionary thing and all of the sudden we all felt like we needed to go visit Adela right away! So we walk all the way up the mountain to where her house is and when we get there she opens the door and just starts bawling! We were all so worried and we didn't know what was going on so we sat her down and listened as she told us that is she gets baptized the next day... she will lose EVERYTHING. Her husband is very opposed to it, her kids (who are all older and married now) have bluntly told her they will never talk to her again if she joins the church, her old pastor shouted at her and told her she was going to hell and then on top of all of that none of her "friends" (i put quotations because they are not good friends at all :p) have disowned her and mock her in front of everyone and her boss fired her because she's joining the church. Not gonna lie we were pretty speechless at first, but then we felt the spirit work through us and with God's help our mouths were filled with the words Adela needed to hear. We told her how much God loves her and he will help her through this what seems impossible trial of faith. We reminded her of all her spiritual experiences and how she came to know the church is true through prayer. We read in t5he Bible and the Book of Mormon with her and testified to her that this is the way to true happiness. Our lives here on earth are but just a small moment, but if we endure it well, we will be exalted in heaven and will receive blessings we can not even comprehend in this earthy state. After that she told us she knows the church is true with her whole heart and that she is not going to let others lead her off the path back to Heavenly Father. Her baptism on Saturday was BEAUTIFUL and we were all crying as she shared her feelings and testimony. She is such an amazing example to me of strength and now whenever we think we have it bad... lets think of Adela who has given up everything for the gospel. I love the gospel and I know Adela will be blessed for her decision, as we all will be if we follow the example of Jesus Christ. Love you all and hope you have a great week!!!!
