Marissa's 16th Birthday

On Thursday, March 14th we got to celebrate

  Marissa's 16th Birthday.  

We had to wait for Betsy and Robert to get home from Robert's first NOMS soccer game of the season but that was okay - it was worth the wait.

Marissa is very excited for this very special day.  First she was able to get her driver's permit and now she is celebrating with family.  Tomorrow she will celebrate with friends.  Since Marissa LOVES Gigi Cupcakes, Mommy stopped an bought a 1/2 dozen for the family celebration and a dozen mini's for the party tomorrow.

Marissa was given money in her checking account to use as she chooses.  She is very particular about her clothing so we thought we'd let her do the shopping.  Mommy had found some really cute things but was hesitant - afraid that Marissa wouldn't like them.  This way Marissa can get whatever she would like.

We love you Marissa - we are so proud of you.  You have exceeded all expectations and done so well in all areas of your life.  You are an excellent student, athlete, runner, and a terrific person.  You are so kind and considerate to your family and friends.  You are now advancing to a Laurel in Young Women's - that just doesn't seem possible, but it's true!
