Oldham County Championships are an exciting meet - but we race against two AAA schools...Oldham County and South Oldham. South lost a ton of runners as seniors last year so they don't have much of a team this year, but OC has a very deep team.
Today Marissa is running the 3200 m run. She has been struggling with allergies and asthma this season. She gives her best but it is so hard to run such a long race under these conditions.
Her race is the second to last race. She gets a great start and takes the lead with Avery on the first lap.

At the mile mark all the runners are running at a slower pace than normal. Marissa had a 6:05 mile. Strange. I hope she feels okay. Then she gets passed by a group - 2 OC and Margarite from SOHS.

On the 6th lap Marissa lost count and thought it was the finish so she sprinted - only to realize the clock said 10:36 - "Oh my gosh, I have another lap to go"...

She gave it everything she had to finish strong on the last lap, but that was tiring to sprint the 7th and the 8th. It actually slowed her down on the last lap but she did fine - she finished 4th with a time of 12:32.
