Doing SUPER at the Sundown Meet

The Sundown is a INVITATIONAL meet - only the top two in each event can participate!  Marissa is running the anchor of the 4x800!  She is in the lead!  She does amazing!!!

It was such a great finish!

She really busted it out and did a PR for the 800:  2:40.  So proud of her!!!

 The team did great together!!!

Jesse Sanders, Marissa Lowe, Kristen Snowden and Erin Olsson

Her next event isn't until late - the 3200

It's late at night and this is her first meet after the Mini-Marathon.  You can tell the mini took a toll on her speed.  She could run all night, but she is tired.  She comes in 12th place with a time of 12:48.  Considering she's just run the mini - I'm so proud of her.

The team finishes in 1st place - this is amazing considering all the competition - good look for state!!!

Senior skip day

So, I can't believe I caved in ... but Mark and I allowed Marissa to participate in SENIOR SKIP day.  Jessica wasn't able to because of a test or athletic event, and Devon had a test that day so he couldn't miss either, but most (if not all) of Marissa's teachers expected them to be gone, so we allowed it.

She got to sleep in and that was soooo needed!!!
Then she and a bunch of her friends went to the Louisville Zoo.  What a great way to spend a "free day".  They had a great time.

I'm glad Marissa is having a fun and memorable senior year!  I still can't believe the she is a senior and will be graduating come June.  How did the time go by so fast.  Life certainly doesn't have a pause button.

Marissa was the picture perfect prom girl.  She looked so beautiful, and we had so much fun getting her ready for prom ... but there's a big story before that.  The first thing Marissa did on the morning of prom,

Prepation for senior prom

Marissa and I had so much fun getting ready for Senior Prom.

I took Marissa to get her spray tan a few days before so it could set on her skin.

Then on the day of Prom, after she ran a mini-marathon we went on got her a Manicure and Peticure.  She had her nails painted in a french manicure so that it would go with her dress.

We then had the girl that did the spray tan come to the house and do Marissa's hair just the way she liked it - over the shoulder / goddess style!

Marissa looks amazing!!!

Close game - great win

Saturday afternoon game - great come back

Marissa runs the mini-marathon

Saturday morning Marissa and Mark got up early.  Mark made Marissa her protein rich breakfast before heading downtown to Louisville for the start of the Mini-Marathon.

Marissa is so excited for today!  She has been looking forward to running this race for over a year!  She wanted to run it last year but we wouldn't allow her to (since she had experienced the stress reaction in her femur).

It was a cloudy, chilly morning, but nice conditions for a race.  The heavens started to sprinkle, but not pour.  The race started at 8:00 am.  It was pretty amazing ... Marissa had ran the Anthem 5K in 22:51 with a pace of 7:20 for 5th place, the Rodes 10K in 47:23 with a pace of 7:37 for 1st place, and the Papa Johns 10 miler in 1:19 with a pace of 7:58 for 2nd place, and now running the Mini-Marathon Marissa actually ran a faster 10K time today than she did the day she took 1st place.  At the 10K marker Marissa's time was 46:33 with a pace of 7:29 (WOW).  She finished the 13.1 mile race in 1:42.57 with a cumulative pace of 7:50 taking 8th place.

I'm so very proud of her!!!

Devon - week 45

(this came one week late - better late than never)

I thought that I sent this to you?

I have been super busy this week which is a lot better than having a slow week. Nonstop work.   This is a biking area which allows us to travel fast to appointments. This area has so much potential and possible baptisms coming up. Church was great because we got three referrals from it.  I feel the Lord really helping me to get adjusted to the area because I already feel like I have been here for three weeks and I have never learned so many names so fast.  I really like my Companion.  We have a similar personality.

We had a baptism this week on Saturday :).  The Baptism was the climax of the week, preparing for it and making sure everything was perfect made this week busy and stressful.  We had so much work and service that I was starting to feel sick on Saturday but I woke up Sunday morning feeling refreshed.  Unlike most baptisms were you want to invite everyone for this one we tried to have the least amount of people possible there.  David who was baptized last Saturday get anxiety when there is a large group of people. So we counted the amount of people that would be there which ended up being 12 people however some unexpected people showed up which bumped up the number to like 20 people.  We kept praying that David would not have a panic attack and that he would be calmed.  David was stressed and excited to get baptized.  When he entered the font he was calmed and he was Calm when Elder X confirmed him. It made us happy that he could feel the spirit and not feel stressed.  I have to go.  I will write you more.

Robert does it again - Tennis WIN

It was Robert's last tennis match of the season - today it's against Eastern.  The weather is perfect!  The boys are playing right after school, so both Mark and I leave work early to get there in time to see him play, only to find out that South and Ballard are already playing on the Tom Sawyer courts, so the North and Eastern boys have to wait for their matches to be done before we can play!  YIKES!

Even at that Robert's match was one of the last ones played.  I was there from 4:00 pm until 5:30 - then I had to leave to get Marissa to her appointment by 6:00.  I felt so bad.  I wanted to see Robert play so bad.  At least Mark was there and he promised to take photos for me.

Robert did great!  He played singles today and beat his opponent in three sets!!!  Way to go Robert.
