Rain, Rain, Rain and Soccer in Nelson County

It was such a rainy day.  We were expecting the game to be called all day, but the call never came.  It was a Sunday game, but it wasn't until 5:00 pm so we let Robert play so that he wouldn't miss so many games, and we are down two players right now - Billy quit and someone is out injured.

It's an hour's drive to Nelson county so Robert and I had to leave by 3:00 pm.  To be honest, I'm a little sick of driving to soccer lately!!!

Robert didn't start this game, but that's actually a good thing for him because Nelson county scored both their goals while he wasn't in.  It was an ugly game.  Mainly because Nelson County has short fields and strong kickers.  We lost the first goal on a drop shot that fell behind our goalie - he was out too far.  The second goal was because the goalie rolled the ball to our defender before the back field was cleared and it was intercepted for an easy goal.  BUMMER!

This game was horrendous to watch - rain, wet fields, kick ball... ugh!!!  The game was eventually called due to rain - it started down pouring rain (buckets).

Robert had a few turn overs this game but so did everyone else due to the slippery conditions.  I hope he can really develop his confidence!! He's a great player!!
