Robert Runs in JV Regionals - NEW PR

It's a nice day for a race, but the race is scheduled for exactly 1 hour after school gets out, so that's not much time for the Oldham County teams to get ready (Jefferson County schools get out earlier).  Betsy picks Robert up from school at 3:50 pm and drives Robert to Seneca Park, Louisville, KY.  We arriver around 4:20 giving Robert about 25 minutes before the start of the race to stretch and warm up.

At 4:45 PM the race starts - it's a fast course only one long hill - long on the way down and long on the way up.

Robert starts on the back row behind his teammates so he gets a good start considering where he is, but he gets stuck behind other runners.  The runners head straight out south make a turn like around a track and another turn so that they are heading north on the other side of the narrow park - I don't even know how far into the race it is but Robert looks great - strong - and flying.  He is in good position.

You can't even see Robert, except for his legs behind Adam
The runners disappear down the hill, and then after waiting a while they reappear …. the first two are St. X, then Trinity … etc.  The first North runner is David Gardiner (BANGS), then Areseny, then Aaron Kay Anthony, Adam Zimmerman, then Will Gillette, then Nick Bierne, Zeke Gillette and Robert.  Robert had passed Luc Brezeau, Mark Sherer, Will Strench, and had always been in front of Austin Gordan (Gordy).  WOW!  He's flying.

The runner pass us and head back around the two turns before returning past the start to the finish…Arseny had passed Bangs to take 1st for North, 6th overall.  Robert looked strong back at the other point but could he keep it up - he does!  Right at the finish a Trinity runner passes Robert, but Robert sprints to pass him back.
A Trinity runner passes Robert … but not for long

Go Robert Go!!
Robert passes him before the finish!
Way to go Robert!

He's even closing in on Zeke.  Robert came in 8th for his tema, 36th place overall with a FANTASTIC time of 17:45 - A NEW PR!!!!  Robert took another 50 seconds off his PR and that was just 3 days ago!  WOW!

Wow, that even beats Devon's PR on this same course of 17:52.
