Natural Bridge over Fall Break

On Tuesday, October 22, 2013 Mark took the day off so that we could have some family fun while the kids are on Fall Break.  Since both Marissa and Robert are involved in Fall sports we can't seem to ever go away for Fall Break, but we do try to get away for the day - here and there.  We've gone to Nashville, Cincinnati and then last year we did Colonel Butler Park and this year we went to the Natural Bridge in Slade, KY.  We called and had Seth Orr go with us.  He and Robert (and Devon) have been friends for 10 years.

Beautiful Marissa
We thought we were taking a .75 (3/4 mile hike) but somehow we ended up on the wrong trail and it ended up being 1.25 miles.  No worries = we had fun, and we climbed a lot LOT of stairs.

Overall, we hike 3.5 miles - we had a great time.  It was the best weather of the week.  I'm so grateful we went that day and enjoyed some time as a family.  It was sad to realize our family is getting smaller and smaller, now with Jessica on her mission and Devon at BYU.  It will only continue to get smaller. hummm.
