Week 23

Hi everyone!

So, 1st before everything else I just want to give a shout out to my best friend Amanda McCall who turned 21 this week!!! Happy birthday girlie! I love you so much and hope you had a wonderful birthday even though it was the first one i haven't been present at in like 8 years haha :) 2nd Pasensiya I didn't get to write last week, it was a crazy busy P-day but I have plenty of time today so here's the update on sister Lowe :) So for starters you could say i'm pretty much a Filipino chef now. haha not really but I was in charge of going to the market and cooking this week in our apartment and not to brag or anything but I can hold my own in my Filipino cooking against the Filipinos in my apartment haha. So get excited for when I come home because I will be cooking a lot of Philippines food!  I hope you like adobo and fish haha. So this week we really focused on our less active members in our area which was really fun! We met a lot of people who have not been to church in years and don't even remember a lot about the gospel so it's almost like teaching investigators. But we have one family in particular who I’m super excited about that we met this week. The Robles family is made up of Anthony (who is an RM), Aliw and their 4 kids and I seriously love them all so much! They are such a cute little family and no big deal the kids love me haha. We were able to get to know them and share a spiritual message from the scriptures with them about the atonement of Jesus Christ and how through him we can become clean from our sins and start over on a new slate no matter what you have done. Of course none of us are perfect, but our heavenly father knew that when he sent us here to earth so he provided a way for us to become clean and return to him again to live in peace and happiness with our families into the eternities :) Suddenly, Sister Aliw (who before had put up a wall and seemed so indifferent) just started to cry. You could feel the spirit so strong and she told us how she just felt so unworthy to talk to God or return to church because of the things she had done in her past. We testified to her that her heavenly father loves her and her family so much and wants them to be happy. And the only way to experience true happiness is to continually hold to the true gospel of Jesus Christ here on the earth today. It leads guides us through our dark and thorny patches of life and our savior is the light which we must look to. They said they would start reading the book of Mormon again and they let us take the kids to ward FHE which they really enjoyed. We have an appointment with them tomorrow and I’m super excited for them!! I love being able to help people come closer to Christ every day and I just hope that I can make a difference in these people’s lives and help them to be able to feel as happy as I do :)

I love this gospel, I love my savior, i love being a missionary and of course, I love all of you :)

Mahal kita!
