Stuck in Santa Rosa, NM

Sunday stuck in a town with no car, a cell phone and no church and nothing to do.

Making the best of a bad situation: I have never stopped along Route 66, but have always wanted to see what was there, so this gave us the opportunity to walk around town and stop at the Route 66 Museum.
The kids found this car that looked like Skeeter from the Disney movie "Cars".
So Cute
My Kids are bikers - Yikes!

Big smiles for Jessica and Robert

After our tour of the Route 66 we called the car shop to see the status of my van - they hadn't even looked at it. WHAT! They said they would start at 9:00 am. It's now 10:30 and they still haven't done a thing - this is going to be a very long day. We walked down to Dairy Queen to get some refreshment to kill time. We shared gospel heros to "kinda" have a sunday school lesson.

We waited until 2:00 p.m. for the car shop to tell us that they couldn't do anything. They said they would tow my car to Albuquerque, NM for $350 and give us all a ride there. This is so messed up. It took two hours to get there. We left the car at a Honda dealership and I dropped the keys in the drop-box. The two driver was nice enough to drive us to the airport to get a rental car.

We rented a mini-van for $55 a day and headed to Flagstaff, AZ where I was supposed to meet my dad mid day. Now it looks like we will arrive between 11:00 pm and midnight. At least, then we will be were we were supposed to be. The damage could have been much worse - we are only a half day behind schedule and we still have two days with my dad.

What an amazing ending to a bad situation. So nice to arrive in Flagstaff, AZ.
