On Monday after Cross country practice I stopped at Kroger for some groceries. I left Robert and his friend Ben in my car. They tease each other back and forth. When I got back and started the car - all the car warning lights were on.
Immediately I turn to Robert and ask, "What did you do to my car?"
He and Ben said they didn't do anything.
Well, all day Tuesday the lights were still on but the car was running fine so I figured it was a mistake and that I'd have to take it in to be fixed but nothing serious.
Well, on Wednesday Betsy was driving Robert to soccer practice down on Hurstborne Lane. Just as I came off the ramp my radio went out, but then came back on, and off, then on… and so on. Just a few more feet down the road and then the odometer, speedometer, gas gauge, temperature gauge, and engine gauge all stopped working at the same time. What is going on! All electronic components stop working. I was so close to Robert's practice so I turned the corner and dropped him off. I was so lucky that the Honda Dealership was right on that block so I called and brought my car in. As I was bringing it in the car started to not respond to the gas pedal until I reved the engine up high. I was lucky that I was so close and coasted into the shop. They obviously could not service it that night, but at least it was there.
The next day Honda calls to say it is the alternator and the battery. They can fix both fairly quickly. Awesome!!! Well, that lasted two hours until I received another phone call saying that the alternator belt broke and they will need to replace that too, but they don't have it in stock so I have to wait another day.
In the end it cost $835.
They called and said it was ready right when Mark was in Baptist East Hospital. My neighbor, Paula took me to the dealership.
