Patio is complete

After Betsy returned from Utah, she worked two full time days so that put progress on the patio to a halt, however, she was determined to finish her part.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Betsy gave every available minute to filling in the cracks with the sand cement.  The sand cement was amazing but very meticulous work.  You pour the sand into all the cracks between the pavers and in the decorative lines of the pavers and then use a mist spray to set the sand into concrete!  It's amazing!

HOWEVER, it is extremely painful on the back.  I was bent over for hours gently pouring sand into cracks and carefully avoiding getting any of the sand on the pavers so not cause a stain.  After pouring the sand, each paver had to be brushed with a paint brush to remove any excess.  It was a lot of work - lot of hours, but now that it's done - it's fantastic!

I am so pleased with the patio.

Next step is to level the dirt around the patio, plant landscaping and mulch it!
Second on the list is creating the fire pit.
After that it is more the fun stuff like buying patio furniture, and enjoying it forever!

I am already enjoying the patio.  It feels so peaceful and comfortable out there.  Opening up the deck and extending the living area (outside) made a huge difference to our "outside home life."  I think we will spend a lot of time outside (weather permitting).
