Tiger Run - First Meet of the Season

It's a Busy day for the Lowe children; Robert, Devon and Marissa run at the Tiger Run at Championship Park (River Road). Robert has to be there by 7:00 am, Devon and Marissa need to be at NOHS at 7:30 am for their buses. Needless to say it was early to be for us the night before.

Betsy came back from Utah just so she could be at the Tiger and then take Robert to his soccer game in Lexington. She never wants to miss an event of her kids. It's just so important for her to be there to show her support!

Robert is the first to run. His 3K race is at 9:00 am. He is ready and on the front line.

Robert had a great run. He had a 5:30-5:40 mile split and made up ground between the mile and then end of the race. He finished 3rd for his team in 14th place with a new PR of 10:56. It was a fabulous race for him! Robert's team took 1st place! Way to go NOMS Boys!

Devon's race is at 9:30 am, immediately after Robert's race. He is working hard the whole race.

Devon had a great finish; he sprinted hard to pass two people in front of him. His finishing time in the Varsity race was 18:48, a huge improvement over last year's first race and only a minute over his PR. He's off to a great start for NOHS!

Marissa's race wasn't until 11:45. She had to run in the JV race along side another runner to ease her back into racing. She ran with Caitlyn Robert. She had a super great race considering she wasn't allowed to run all out, she had to stay with her. Marissa sprinted just a bit at the end to finish in 19th place (top 20) 2 seconds before Caitlynwith at time of 23:04. She also earned a medal and the opportunity to run without a "buddy" in the next race.
