Robert's school team is DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!

5/10/11 in one of the most intense games I've ever seen, Robert's team pulls it out in a PK shoot out.  The game was intense to say the least.  First Shelby West scored, then we came right back and scored from the weak side after the goalie bobbled the ball.  1-1.  Then we scored again with about 14 minutes left in the first half.  This time Ryan, one of Robert's best friends from school scored on an excellent give and go situation that started with Robert and Ryan.  Everyone was so happy!  Just before half - Shelby West gets off a good shot for goal - we are tie 2-2 at half. (I think that's right)

At the start of the second half we scored on a hand ball in the box - PK - we are up 3-2.  The next goal was scored by Shelby West with a foul called on us in the box = PK for them; we are now tie at 3-3.   With only 24 seconds left in the game Robert gets the ball passes to Trevor, Trevor shoots from way out, it's high and long and it goes right in along the top of the net.  23 seconds left in the game and we are up 4-3.  The crowd goes wild.  Jessica and I are jumping up and down on the bleachers.  then…

WHAT???  The goalie calls the ref over and pleads that the ball went over the net and in through a whole in the back of the net.  IMPOSSIBLE or at the very least IMPROVABLE.  The goals discounts the goal and the game goes into overtime.

We have first kick off - 5 minutes goes by - no change in the score.  Shelby West gets second kick off and that 5 minute period ends the same.  Score 3-3.  We are now at a PK shoot out.

Patrick is our goalie:  Georgio, Blake, Ryan, and Robert are chosen to take the PK shots.

They score, we score.  They score, we score. 5-5.  Then Patrick blocks their shot, we score. 6-5.  Patrick does it again - the crowd goes wild, we score… 7-5! - everyone thinks the game is over.  The team rushes the field, but then the ref calls everyone off.  We have to shoot two more and they have to shoot two more.  we shoot wide.  Their goals shoots wide.  GAME OVER!!!!  We win!!!

Robert's team is DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!  They had to win that game three times to claim championship, but they did it!
