Tonight was a night of awards. The Underclassman awards were at 6:00 pm at the North Oldham High School Auditorium. Devon was presented with the Humanities Award.
At 7:00 the Senior Awards ceremony began. It was to our utter surprise that Jessica was the recipient of the Blake Hazelton Award, the highest award given to a student at North Oldham High School. It wasn't surprising that she qualified for it; as they read the mantra about the award I thought in my mind how that described Jessica, but probably also several other students. I was so shocked when Principal, Lisa Jarrett announced Jessica's name.
Jessica was also presented the Teal and Black award for having participated in a sport (or two) and maintained a 90% or higher in her grades.
Overall it was such a wonderful night. She is so deserving and yet so humble. I'm so blessed as a mom to have such wonderful children.
