Marissa has braces

For the longest time Marissa has wanted braces.  I guess because all the other kids at school have them.  Well, Devon started in braces a few months back (February).  We were happy with his orthodontist, Michelle Mitchell of Mitchell Ortho so we had Marissa come in for an evaluation.  We were so blessed that Jessica never needed braces, but have know FOREVER that Marissa would need them.  Ironically, yes she needed them to straighten her teeth, but she had a much more serious condition that we would not have know about had we not taken her in and had the panoramic x-ray.
The orthodontist found that her canine tooth came in sideways - missing the baby canine completely.  She now needs to have the permanent canine brought down - every so gently - and the baby canine removed.  The moving of the roots are the scary thing.  In a few months Marissa will go in for oral surgery.

We are so grateful to have learned about her condition so we can help her mouth stay healthy.  She is so excited to have braces.
