High School at the Trinity meet

Saturday, September 18 Devon's Cross Country team ran in the Trinity Meet held at Tom Sawyer Park. It is a nationally recognized course that draws superb competitors. Devon ran in the JV race that started at 9:15 - it was nearly perfect conditions. Before every race the boys; Varsity and JV huddle and do a cheer! It's great bonding!
About a mile and a half into the race you can see the runners. Devon was going so face I couldn't focus my camera fast enough. All I got was a semi-side shot.
Then around the 2 mile mark, Devon had almost caught up to Jordan Yates. Wow, he is really focus and has a very determined look on his face.
Devon at the finish. OH MY GOODNESS. At first I couldn't believe it...he was the 5th runner for his JV team and he not only got a PR, but he ran a 5K (3.1 miles) in 18:47 minutes. AMAZING!!!

He ran the best race so far. He was focused and driven. He knew what to do and how to keep going. I am so proud of him.

Later that day, I took Marissa, Robert and Devon out to The Grill for lunch and Dairy Queen for a Blizzard treat - they deserved it.
