Awkward - to say the least

Okay, Today I am driving home on the interstate - get to my off ramp and see someone ahead of me chuck their aluminum can out the passenger window over the car to the grass.

I can't stand people that litter. They are lazy, disrespectful and disobedient to the law. Our world is already a mess of trash - we don't need jerks adding to it.

Second, I spent months collecting aluminum cans from the sides of road to help Devon with his Eagle project. They litter almost every road. I am sick of it...

Well, I pull up to the car and immediately (almost without looking at them) say, "I am reporting you for littering." As soon as I say it, I see that the driver and the passengers are several of Jessica's classmates. I wouldn't call them friends, but they know each other - actually I know them from basketball, cross country and track. YIKES!

I know they recognize me as well. AWKWARD! What do I do?
