Went so wrong

Dear Heavenly Father how could this have gone so wrong. I was having a wonderful evening with Devon and Sierra. We had just finished watching the movie up side and had a conversation about character development. They use Luke Skywalker as an example of how character development changes with different directors or producers. Somehow this conversation was the catalyst for a huge misunderstanding!

Devon and Sierra had a different perspective and view point than of mine and were explaining their view.  It was interesting but I had a different belief.  

Sierra was upset that I didn’t convert to their way of thinking.  She also felt our conversation was more of an argument.

I tried to explain to her that this was a conversation not an argument nor contentious because it wasn’t personal.  We are each just expressing our different points-of-view.  

Somehow I was accused of not listening so I stopped and listened to Sierra explain her perspective.  She said she was trying to learn our family communication system.  

I tried to explain that it wasn’t a family (not everyone in our family communicates with Devon the way I do) but then she blew up at me and walked away saying she was walking home.

Well, Then I made the mistake of chasing after her trying to get her to stop but she just kept refusing to engage or listen to me and walked away.  

Unfortunately I called her immature- I should not have done that.  I regret that, but I was so frustrated that she refused to listen to reason.  She wouldn’t even stop to listen to an explanation! 

Well it ended very badly with her walking off.  I have no clue what to do
