I'm so proud of her - she is so close to getting her Master's Program done. What an amazing accomplishment.
I flew to Utah on Sunday after church. I arrived late - so I stayed at the SpringHill Suites in Provo so that Jessica and Tate could get a good night sleep. The next day Jessica had off so she met me at the hotel to pick me up. The next two weeks I will be staying at their apartment with them on an air mattress. I would sleep on the floor - I'm so happy to be of service to them. I love to be helpful and useful to others.
I arrived in Provo on Sunday, January 13th! I usually stay at a hotel so that I do not impose on anyone, but this time I am staying with Jessica and Tate in their apartment so that I can help with Cayson while Jessica starts her second internship at the Intermountain Hospital.
I am extremely excited to be with them while having the opportunity to care for and play with my super cute adorable grandson.
Unfortunately, Jessica and Cayson had come down with bad respiratory colds. Jessica's still able to work, but Cayson has a low grade fever. They came to pick me up at the hotel. Cayson is so cute. You would never know he wasn't feeling well.
He was just learning to sit by himself at this time - 6 months. He sat on my bed all by himself. His mom and grandma were so excited for him. He has the happiest disposition - always smiling, even though he isn't feeling well.
I spent the day with Jessica learning Cayson's routine and likes and dis-likes. He still sleeps in their room in a pack-n-play. They have a camera that watches over him while he sleeps or naps. Cayson is adorable. He is now able to eat some table foods and he can hold his own bottle - and loves to be that independent. The best part having this opportunity is seeing his smile and eyes. He has such a deep sparkle in his eyes that connects deep inside, and then there is his enduring smile that melts every heart that sees it. There isn't any other way around it. He's the cutest baby on the planet.
Jessica typed up some instructions for me so I have something to reference if he should get off schedule. I was very grateful for those instructions because every day is so different from the last.
At this time Cayson was suffering a little with head congestion. I felt so bad for him because I know what it is like to have congestion but not the ability to blow your nose. Poor thing. The most we can do for him is run the humidifier close to his crib while he naps and sleeps, clean out his nose (if he will cooperate) and drop saline drops into his nose (again if he will cooperate).
Cayson and I read books together, played peek-a-boo and other games, like "I'm going to get you" and such everyday. Every other day his cousin, Lola came to play with us too. She is approximately 4 months older than Cayson, but she is the same size and weight (maybe even smaller).
