I had been subbing the Book of Mormon class at church for Kristine Thiess for a few weeks before Christmas, but over the Christmas break, President Day asked me if I would be willing to take over teaching the class for her. This should have come as a big shock, but I had been sensing that something was concerning because I had subbed for her most of December. She deserved the break - she's been teaching this class since I moved there and before - a total of 17 years. That's an extremely long time to have a calling.
Today was my first day of teaching (facilitating) the class. For over a week I have been studying and preparing for this day. I am so nervous. Kristine is a legend...everyone loves how she teaches the class, and that can be very intimidating.
I am so grateful for the kind people that attends the class. They made it better. The best part was studying and preparing for the lesson. I learned I can really learn the scriptures on a deeper level and remember where I learned special passages. The second best part for me was getting them to participate. I love the gospel. I love sharing it with everyone. I love how it changed my life. I love these classes.
