Jessica, Dad and Betsy went to see Robert play. Robert started the game as a striker!!! Go Robert!
He played the first 18 minutes and then the coach switched players up. While in he had two shots on goal and the perfect pass for a goal, but Dillon went just wide on the shot. It was rather interesting to see that the boys that played the first 18 minutes of the game had a total of 7 shots on goal and a goal by Dillon, and then in the remaining 12 minutes of the first half there were NO stats to record ... nothing.
Nice move by Robert |
Half time 1-0 (goal by Dillon)
The second half started with the starters on the field. Robert had two shots and Dillon had one. There was an amazing play that I recorded on film on the camera. It was a corner kick by Dillon - it was coming for Robert - Robert actually pushed someone out of the way to get to the ball, got his head on it and then fell to the ground ... at the same time Ryan Goeheaghan came running up from mid field and also jumped into the air to head the ball at the same time. Well, when all was said and done - Robert was on the ground, Ryan there, the ball in the net and a goal scored. Robert thought it was his goal, but then the announcer said it was Ryan Goeheaghan - crazy! It didn't matter - it was a goal !!!! YEAH!
At about 18 minutes into the game, the players switched again. This time the second team did score (but that was their only stat). We scored one more with a pass from Nolan Ruggles to Conner Frazee for our third goal.
Final score 3-1.
