The Ups and Downs of Basketball

Another weekend means more basketball games and this weekend we spent hours as enthusiastic spectators or prominent players.  Of course, Mom, Dad and Robert are the spectators and Devon and Marissa are the players.

The first game was Marissa's at 9:00 am at the stake center.  They played against a very aggressive and determined Shelbyville team that didn't have much of a defense.  Luckily for us we had a good defense and won the game 24-12 (ish - I can't remember exactly).  All the girls were happy to get a win.  They are now 2-1 in the season.  We had the team picture after the game.

Robert wasn't so excited, but him Mom insisted on going to the basketball game of the team he was going to be on (except for his ACL injury).  We found out from Lana Rice that the game was at 12:00 at Kenwood Station.  She never mentioned that the boys Robert was going to see play weren't going to be in attendance that day.  REALLY!  We showed up looking for them.  The good news was, the team won and there were several other friends of Robert's there and they were all happy to see him.

The third and final game of the day was at 2:00 at the Stake center.  Unfortunately for Devon's team it didn't have the same ending.  Devon and Kaleb played very hard, but it was utterly impossible to get rebounds when the 7'?" post stood under the basket.  We had shots, just not good shots. D Jay had the most points for the team.  The game ended with another blow out, but not nearly as bad as the first game.  The team is 1-2.  Not bad considering...
