Tucano's for Birthday dinner

It's BIRTHDAY TIME!!!!

Tate - March 7th
Devon - March 10th
Marissa - March 14th
and me - March 18th

To treat everyone - I took everyone to Tucano's for lunch!
My beautiful daughters - Marissa and Jessica

Devon and Sierra came over and from there we all went to Tucano's.  Tucano's is a Brazilian restaurant.    At Tucanos, meats and vegetables are carefully selected to ensure that only the freshest cuisine is served. The meats are tastefully seasoned and cooked on skewers over open-flame grills. The skewers are then brought around to the guest's tables where sizzling portions are sliced onto our plates. You may choose as many different flavors and cuts as you like. The meats range from tantalizing chicken to sirloins.  It is extremely delicious!!!  It is a meat lovers dream - so it's perfect for Devon and Tate, and me - and Marissa just a little.  They also have an expansive salad bar - which we all appreciated greatly!

Back at Tate and Jessica's apartment - Betsy had decorated the whole apartment with banners, signs, streamers and balloons!  IT was so festive.  She gave Tate, Devon and Marissa their birthday presents.  It was such a festive time.

Birthday Lunch

Today was a special treat for me.  I love getting together with friends, and I do not do it enough.  Luckily today, Paula and Maureen and I chose to have a birthday lunch together.  My birthday is first - March, Maureen's is April, and Paula's isn't until later.  Since Paula works doing taxes, it is better to meet earlier in the month to avoid all the time demands the closer time gets to the tax deadline of April 15.

We had a wonderful time going to lunch at First Watch.  It was my first time there.  It is so very healthy and all natural.

WE had the best time.  We laugh, share and talk.  We could have stayed there for hours.  It is crazy how fast the time went by.

It's also hard to believe that that could be our last time getting together.  That's really sad when you think about it.  Maureen has been my neighbor for nearly 17 years and Paula has been my neighbor for at least 8 years... probably more.  It's been so long, I can't even remember when they moved in.

Life is going to be very different without them -

Lunch with Kim Whitehouse

Kim moved into the home Mike and Terri used to live in - 6100 Laurel Lane.  Their house is directly beside/behind ours (since our lot has slanted lines).  They moved in over the summer and we connected immediately, but with me working and her adjusting to the new area we had a hard time finding time to go out.

Mark and I really shared good will and kindness with them.  It was so strange how their son, Jacob was a lot like Robert - very dedicated to his studies as well as playing soccer.  I told them all about NOHS and the OSC, KY fire, Javanon teams, etc.  It was great to share info.

Mark and I would go to the NOHS games and see the team and see Jacob play.  It was always nice to sit with our Glen Oaks crew.  We introduced Kim and her husband, Aaron to everyone.

Today Kim and I finally had a chance to go to lunch together.  We went to Pot Belly's sandwich/sub shop.  We had such a good connection!  I'm sad that we are moving away.  I learned she runs her own non-profit organization writing cards to cancer patience.  She does this because she is a cancer surviver.  There is so much we don't know about people until we sit down and take time to get to know each other.

Merry Lunch in LaGrange with Maureen

Maureen and I have been friends since Maureen moved into the house three doors down.  I can't believe she remembers me coming over with cookies and introducing myself and my family to her and welcoming them to the neighborhood.  Since that day she has always been there for me and visa versa.  At the same time our boys did everything together.  They loved to play soccer together, challenge each other in school and sports and hang out.  The Greens would often take Robert to their lake house.
Now we are both moving away from Louisville - I am headed to Memphis for Mark's job and Maureen and her family are headed to North Carolina to live on the shore of a beautiful lake.  HMMM.  I will have to arrange visits.

Today we went to The Red Pepper in LaGrange, did some window shopping and toured a Christmas house.  It was a great day.  I will always cherish this day and my friendship with Maureen.
