It was a strange day. I usually would have gone to work, but since I was laid-off the day before, I got a wonderful birthday present to sleep in. SLEEP IN - I love to sleep in.
Mark made plans to spend the day with me. He worked in the morning planning to take the afternoon off. At 2:00 PM we went to a late lunch at Longhorn, my favorite. I ordered the ribeye (my favorite) and Mark got the pork porterhouse. We were there only customers (there were servers eating but they finished and left while we were there). Our server was Rose, and she told us we were her last customers. The restaurant was closing after we left. It would be open for take away but not for any dine in customers. Such a strange feeling to see what seems like the world closing down.
After lunch we drove over to the movie theater to see a movie "I Still Believe" When we arrived at the theater the marque said "As of March 18 the theater is closed until further notice."
Well - that's it - the world is closed down - except for "Essential Work". It's crazy. Yesterday I lost my job, today all the businesses close.
It is definitely a memorable birthday.
