Week 24 - President of the USA

Hello everyone!

It's been a good week! Many miracles!! On P-day last week President Allred invited the cache central zone to his grandson's baptism. He asked the sisters to sing at it. It was so awesome to support President Allred's family. Afterwards he took us all out to eat at pizza pie cafe. It was a great day!

So it was the election this week and everyone on campus wants to talk about it. As missionaries we aren't supposed to talk about politics or get involved with it. It was so hard to not talk about it though! On Wednesday we went to campus to go tracting like any other day (we still didn't know who the president was since we don't have a tv or news). We saw this girl walking and so we said, "Hello, how's your day going" and she replied: "this is the worst day of my life!" We were so concerned and said, "Oh no, what happened, did classes go wrong or something?" And she said, "No it's the person who is in authority of this country now!" She didn't even have to say his name and then went on this long rant about the new president. So that's how I found out who the president was. It was a crazy day! Everyone was talking about the election!

We've had some good things happen in this week and some discouraging things. Caesar dropped us which means he told us he doesn't want to meet anymore which was sad for us because he told us he knows the Book of Mormon Is true, he just doesn't want to commit to a religion. Yep... it just doesn't make sense to me!

With Jasmine

Some good news about this week was that we had a baptism!! Woot woot! Jasmine was baptized on Saturday! We only met her two weeks ago and she was so excited to be baptized! Her baptism was really special and the spirit was definitely there! She asked me to speak at her baptism and I was happy to do it.

Okay last thing....A member of the seventy, Elder Larsen, came and spoke in one of our wards that our investigator, Zev, attended. Jason (Zev's roommate) gave the closing prayer. After it Elder Larsen asked Jason who that was sitting next to us, and he told him that it was Zev who is not a member. He asked if he could meet Zev. And so we all went down to the stake presidents office and had a lesson with Elder Larsen and President Ensign (stake president). Zev has been struggling with feeling the spirit and knowing if the Book of Mormon is really the word of God. They testified to him and Elder Larsen asked at the end of the meeting if he could give Zev a priesthood blessing to receive answers. Zev accepted and you could tell Zev felt the spirit so strongly. What an amazing experience that happened out of the blue!

It was a good week. It's crazy how fast time goes by...I don't like it. Mission life is great. I love the people here! They are so amazing and these college students do so much for missionaries even though they are busy with college stuff.
Love you all
