Devon - Week 25

Many things happened this week.  When I was a kid I didn't like you paying for piano lessons.  So I never learned to play the piano.  Elder Perez is great at playing the piano and he can play many hymns and other songs.  I asked him if he would teach me and he really didn’t want to teach me. I kept asking him and he kept saying, “no.”  He really wanted one of my gift cards and was trying to buy one.  Then he remembered that I wanted to learn piano so he said that he would pay me $20 and teach me to play piano.  I said, “yes” and now Elder Perez is teaching me how to play piano.  I can already play a simplified version of "High on the Mountain top" and my ability to read music has increased 10 fold.
I have some Good news. We got a new investigator named Jen through “He is the Gift” and members. She has come to church for the past 5 weeks.  She has been to church 4 times before we even got to teach her.  We kept asking her fellow-shipper if we could meet with her, ask her if she wants to hear the discussions, or if he wanted to ask her. He is a Priest in the Green Valley Ward and kept forgetting to ask her. We had dinner with that family, The Carson's, and they invited her to eat with us as well.  What I thought was great is that she was asking us questions before dinner.  She asked why are church is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and why our church does not have a cross on it. We answered her.  I could tell that she was curios about our church which made me excited.  After dinner we watch He is the Christ and asked her if she would like to hear the discussions.  She said yes!! … and we are going to teach her tonight.

Some bad news is that two of our investigators are moving (the Files).  The Files have a mom that is excommunicated and the husband is a non-member.  We were teaching the children Lily and Madison which had 4 baptism dates that were all cancel by their Mom.  We knew that they were moving but they told us that they were moving in January.  The spirit guided us on Saturday to text there Mom to see if they are going to church tomorrow and she told us that they were moving tomorrow and we freaked out.  So we went to Deseret books and got them small Books of Mormon and engraved their names on them.  We also highlighted some scriptures and wrote notes and testimony in them.  When we gave them the Book of Mormons they said we already got some then we showed them that they had their names on them and they loved them.  They told us that we were the best missionaries ever.  We both feel that this is their ideal time to be baptized is now at this time in there life and they may never get this chance again.  We hope that there Mom will let them get baptized.  We are going to send the missionaries in Nampa after them.

I watch the Christmas Devotional which was great.
