Time to Celebrate Devon's Graduation

Today was a great day to reflect and celebrate Devon's Graduation from North Oldham High School.  It was a very last minute decision to through him a celebration, but it just felt like the right thing to do.  Years ago, I thought if, IF we get to this day, I would hold the biggest party of the century for him, but as the years have gone by, it became more and more evident that Devon was heading towards this path in life and would undoubtedly be graduating with his friends.

Yesterday, he did that - and not only did he graduate, but he did is Cum Laude and with awards from National Honor Society and National Beta Club Recognition.

So today we through a celebration for Devon with just those people that have been influential in his life; neighbors, friends, teachers, leaders, and family.

Devon's friends were the first to show - James Cluff and Ethan Hansen,  they called Steven and he came over too.  Jen and Ron Singer, the boys Missionary prep teachers came, Mike and Terri Rolfes came, Harley and Maureen Green, Angela Gold, Nancy Hansen, Bruce and Kendra Burton, Tyler and Cynthia Madsen and so on ... Brandon and Kelly White were out of town but wished him the best.  Non of our extended family was able to come, but we don't live near many.

It was so wonderful to have so many friends and neighbors come celebrate with us.  It was great just to sit around the table and share stories, talk, and laugh.  We talked and laughed for hours.  The party started at 3:00, but people didn't start to come until 4:00.  It (officially) ended at 6:00 but people didn't leave until 8:30.  It was wonderful.

What great friends we have - how blessed I feel at the end of this special day, month, year!
