A Day at King's Island

We left Louisville on Thursday, July 5th at 8:00 am for a four day - amusement park - see grandma and family baptism trip.  Yes, so many things crammed into four days.

First Stop:  Kings Island, in Mason, OH
We've been to Kings Island last year and so we knew the rides we liked, the ones we missed and the must do's this time.  We went to have VORTEX as our first ride, but Mark convinced every one to bumper cars (no line).  We had a great time, but then raced over to the Vortex.  Being there right as it started helped the "wait in line" time.  We didn't have much of a wait at all.
Second ride of the day:  Awesome!
The ride was great!  After the Vortex the kids road the "Swing in the Sky", "Racer" and another roller coaster while Betsy ran over to the water park to put towels down on chairs. It  was a good thing she left at that time because she only found three open chairs by the time she got there.   She nabbed them all!

Around 12:00 everyone made their way over to the water park.  The city was having near record high temperatures of 105 degrees!  HOT!!!  We enjoyed the wave pool, slides and the Monsoon!  Devon and Betsy were able to surf the waves on the surf ride.  Robert and Marissa also tried but didn't have any success.

Unfortunately, Devon's mosquito bites have become infected and looked like they needed medical treatment.  The more Betsy saw them, the more she knew they needed to get to a doctor, so around 1:30 she and Devon left for a local Urgent Care.  They were seen, given prescriptions and returned around 4:30 (ugh - 3 hours lost).

While they were gone, Jessica, Dad, Robert and Marissa ate lunch and did more roller coaster rides.  When we arrived back at the park, Devon and Betsy joined them on the massive log ride.  Everyone got soaked!  It felt great since it was such a hot day.  The best part was the waves while watching others ride the ride.

We finished in the water park again before heading out.  On our way out we found an 80's store.  Devon played Galaxia - did amazing!  We took lots of photos at the water fountain in front of the mini Eiffel tower.

We had a long drive - 3 and 1/2 more hours - stopping in Columbus, OH for dinner.  We arrived in Sandusky, OH around 12:30 am.  Long day!  Sweet dreams!
