Oldham County - Game #5

 Jessica won the tip which led to the first basket of the night!

 This was an amazing play:  Step #1 - Jessica focused on Defense - she steals the ball...

 She dribbles ...

            ... down the court ...

 ... she's going full speed with very little offense...

 ... she puts it up for a lay up ...

 .... and ...

 ... it's good for 2.  OH YAH!!!

 12/14 Home game against Oldham County HS (OCHS).  In the past, we haven't won against this team. It's not that they are better, it's just that we are the "new" school and there is a rivalry between the schools.  (Same with South Oldham).

The game started with us making the first basket and being close 8-8, then Jessica got a foul and they took her out.  Quickly the score went in the favor of OCHS.  Jessica was back in the game 3 minutes later.  End of the first quarter was 11-19 (we are down by 8).  At the end of the second quarter we are down by 11.  The team just had too many turnovers (Not Jessica).  After half time Jessica came out of the locker room in tear - determined to fight (even if others weren't).   At the end of the third quarter the score is tie 40-40.  OH YAH!  We are back - fighting for every basket.  Fourth quarter, we have a few careless turnovers that cost us baskets.  In the end we lost by 8.  60-52.

Jessica had an awesome game:  17 points, 13 rebounds, 3 deflections, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 blocked shot.  I felt so bad for her.  She had the second best game EVER but the team still lost.
