Christmas Cookie Time

Christmas is full of traditions for our family.  One of our traditions is to make a Christmas Chain - one link for every day until Christmas.  Jessica and the kids decorate 24 strips of paper and link them to form a chain.  Each day a different child gets to take a link off the chain.  They really love this - and I love to see the various creativity of each link (no two are the same).
While waiting for the cookie dough Devon picks Jessica up and puts her on his shoulders - wow - between the two of them I think they are 7 ft tall (maybe more).  Devon has become so strong.

Cookie time:  Devon's first to cut his batch of cookies from the dough.

This is our kitty Jasper - sleeping  in the manger bed for Baby Jesus.  So cute!

Next up is Mommy at the cookie making station!  This is so much fun - we make cookies of all sizes and  shapes.  We can't wait to frost them.
Marissa takes her turn - everyone has their favorites...and everyone tries to steal cookie dough.

The next day we all gather around the breakfast table to decorate the cookies with frosting.  Some like to put it on thick - like Mommy, others like it thin - like Robert and daddy.  Devon likes to be authentic, Marissa likes them any which way, Jessica likes to be creative.  Betsy is artistic.  Robert would like to eat as many as he decorates.

This is so much fun!  We don't stop until all the cookies are done...dozens and dozens
