Skiing Park City

OK just to start this off Betsy has not skied in 27 years. Just let that sink into your head for a minute. The year has finally come when we don’t have any sports in the winter time and our family can be together so Betsy booked a family vacation to Park city Utah. Everybody was there, Marc, Betsy, Jessica, Tate, Devon, Marissa, Robert and even Devon‘s girlfriend Sierra.

Jessica wasn’t able to ski so she stayed back at the cabin.

The rest of us had a blast skiing. Mark Robert and Betsy skied together. Devon and Sierra skied together but Sierra hurt her toe so she didn’t get the ski that much. Tate and Marissa decided to snowboard and had a blast. Tate thought Marissa a new technique.

Betsy was thrilled that she had not lost her touch. The slopes were amazing, but a bunch of them were closed. Park city did not have that much snow this year so the next day everybody went to Snowbird.

Robert goes Skiing for the first time

Wow!  I am so excited for Robert.  His friends, Ryan, and others invited Robert to go to Perfect North for the day to go skiing.

Robert has never gone skiing but they all promised to look out for him and take good care of him.  We've never let our kids go skiing during a sports season so they couldn't get an unnecessary injury.  Now that soccer season is over - Robert can go!!!

Since I love skiing, I still have my goggles (from long ago).  I help Robert get ready - I get his snow pants, under armor shirt and pants, a shirt, a sweatshirt, gloves, hat and his 0 degree jacket. I also pull out my neck snuggie.  Robert says, "no way!"  but immediately Ryan tells him, "you are going to want that!"  So I packed it up for him.

They leave to spend the night at Ryan's house and then they are driving up early Saturday morning.

Robert had a great time.  Ryan said he was a natural and learned to ski super fast.  I'm so proud of Robert.  I am sure he will want to go more.

He said he was going to join the Ski team.  I think that will be great fun!!!
