Marissa Week 16 - She's a trainer and doing great

Hello everyone!

This week has been pretty good and it went by super fast! So on Tuesday we met the new missionaries! There were 3 English sisters, 4 English elders, 3 Spanish sisters, and 6 Spanish elders that came in from the MTC.  Sister Brunt and I took the 3 English sisters out tracking for an hour on USU like what I did on my first day in Logan and then they slept at the mission home that night. We knew that we would

both be training two of the sisters that went out with us that day, but didn't know who we would be paired up with. I went out with Sister Schultz and Sister Brunt went out with Sister Anderson and Sister Rickets. It was fun to see them get nervous talking to people and it reminded me of my first day here in Logan!

On Tuesday we went to the transfer point which was at a chapel. The APs would call up a new missionary and then say "your companion is....". So they called up Sister Schultz and she told us where she was from and shared her favorite scripture and then the APs said your companion is... Sister Lowe!" So I walked up there and gave her a hug and read her the letter I wrote for her (each trainer does that). I was happy because I already knew her from the hour yesterday! Sister Brunt was paired with Sister Anderson and they went to Rock Cliff Ogden, and Sister Plemons was paired with Sister Rickets and they are in North Ogden.

Sister Schultz is from Medford, Oregon. She is 19 and turned 19 in June. She just graduated high school, so she has never been away from home before. She is the third of four just like me, and both of her older brothers went on missions. She is really cool and fun to be with (still miss Sister Brunt though). Training isn't as bad as I thought. It's pretty much the same as it was when I was a trainee, but I just have to make most of the decisions and help her learn the area and the lessons we teach people. We get along really well and both are excited to work together to bring others closer to Christ.

This week we did a lot of finding. We knocked a lot of doors and walked on campus trying to stop and talk to people. Not many people are interested...yet but will be soon:) We do a little loop around campus and stop and talk to as many people as we can and try to introduce the gospel, it's fun because they are all ysa and its rush week for the sororities and frat's! (I got invited to my first frat party...haha...we did not go but I thought it was funny when the frat boys stopped and invited us). Sorry it's kind of a boring email. We had such an amazing week  last week and this week wasn't as great, but that's how missions go. I'm loving it here and I love my new companion and actually don't mind being a trainer any more. It's a lot more work on my part but it kind of reminds me of my first 12 weeks. I hope you all are doing great and that life is going well. I'm gonna leave you with this quote by Jeffrey R. Holland:

"So keep loving. Keep trying. Keep trusting. Keep believing. Keep growing. Heaven is cheering you on today, tomorrow, and forever.” The lord is on our side, and we just have to rely on him and keep our faith in him and he will do wonders among us! I love this gospel and I love being a missionary. I love seeing how this restored gospel can change people's lives for the better!
Love you all!

Sister Lowe

Ps: it's already getting cold here! I'm going to die in the winter:/
