New Years Eve

It was a long day.  I have been staying up way too late and had to go to work this morning!  Things are slow at work for most, but for me they are heating up.

We had to get year-end invoices entered, I had AP run today and we are transitioning from 2014 to 2015 which means reorganizing all the files (taking out 2013 for storage, moving 2014 to the archives and then getting files ready for 2015).  Lots of clerical work, but the good news is that I got off at 4:00 pm - yeah!!!

Robert and Marissa were home today, while Jessica sent time seeing friends before leaving for college tomorrow.  Robert worked out and then went to decorate the stake center for the New Year's Eve Youth Dance.  Meg O'Brien picked him up and took him, then Marissa drove up later (after the dance started).  Avery met them there after he got off work.  He was excited to see a Mormon dance.

Since I got off work early I went shopping for black flats for Marissa.  I not only found really cute flats for her, but I also got her a pair of grey low heals and red low heals (to go with the black dress I got her for Christmas).  I went from there to my contact appointment.  I was very much looking forward to this appointment because my current contacts don't work AT ALL!.

Mark and I were going to take Jessica out for her "last dinner" here, but she had gone out most of the day with friends; Lucy and Lucy's boyfriend for lunch at Olive Garden, and then she met Tyler for ice cream at Graeters.  She was full!  So Mark and I got Chinese take out at 888 Great Wall and brought it home.  I was starving - he ordered Kung Poa Chicken and I got General Tso's chicken ...  it was delicious.

After dinner we watched some movies together while flipping back and forth to the New Year's Eve celebrations being broadcast from NY, CA and FL.  It was a nice "inside" night especially considering how cold it was outside.  We had considered building a nice fire and making smores but it was just too cold outside.

After the dance, Robert, Marissa and Avery went to the O'Brien's house for a New Year's Eve After Dance Party.  The party started at 10:30 pm and went to 12:30 am.  It is great for us because the O'Briens only live around the corner from us ... literally.

At 12:00 the ball dropped and life went on ... Mark and I had our kiss at midnight and then we went to bed.  Robert and Marissa came home right on time.

We even got a photo of Devon on his mission ...

Welcome in 2015 ...
