Devon leaves on High Adventure

Devon met the rest of his High Adventure troop at the church at 8:00 am.  Unfortunately some of the boys got off to a late start and didn't arrive on time, but that's okay.  Devon played football and other sports games in the parking lot while waiting for the others to arrive.  Once all 6 boys (Devon, Ethan, Eduardo, Riley, Jake and Caleb) were there they said a prayer and headed out on their 5-6 hour journey to the shores of Lake Erie.

Their first stop is to do service at the Johnson Farm near Kirtland, OH.  Then they will spend the night at a camping site near Cleveland.

Day two, they will spend learning aviation in the Burke Lakefront Airport control tower and being allowed to access the flight simulator properties in the Aviation School.  Then continuing to Great Lakes Science Center "Facing Mars" and ending up at Lakeside - East Harbor State Park camping grounds.

Day three, the plan is to have the boys enjoy themselves at Cedar Point amusement park.

Day four, today is planned as a challenge day.  Challenge #1:  Relay swim and Race on the beach; Challenge #2:  Scavenger Hunt on beach; Challenge #3:  Frisbee golf.  They will spend the afternoon driving to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH and camp there for the night.

Day five, they will tour Wright Patterson Air Force National Museum before returning to the Louisville area.

The weather forecast for the area they will be staying at isn't good for the majority of the time they are there.  They are expecting severe thunderstorms and showers.  Each and every one of the boys and the leaders will be in our prayers while they are away on this high adventure.
