THANKSGIVING MEAL

Okay, This year is special because it is Jern Jern's first Thanksgiving EVER! She had been learning from Devon and Robert about Thanksgiving throughout the past week. She participated in the traditional "I am grateful for..." scrapbook page I do so she had a small idea of what it was all about before the big day came.

We all slept in! That was awesome!!! I started cooking the bird at 11:00 a.m. and it wasn't done until nearly 7:00 p.m. It was a big Bird! We had a super fantastic day. Actually a super fantastic break since the kids get the day before Thanksgiving off as well.

We didn't take the camera (what?) but on Wednesday the family went roller skating for the first time in a long time. Wow! What a blast. I had so so so much fun! I finally found a sport (activity) that I appeared to be better at then any one else - even Mark. I was in my element. It was like I was 12 years old again, skating the sidewalks of Ridgecrest, CA with all my friends! I know it's crazy - but it was "the best three hours of fun" I'd had in a long time. It isn't that I hadn't missed out on fun prior to that, it's just that that was SO much fun! ZOOM!!!

Okay, back to Thanksgiving! We played football earlier in the day, had fun inside. Set the table and anticipated the delicious dinner that awaited us. Everyone got dressed up for the fancy dinner. Finally the turkey was ready. If you can believe it - the boys wouldn't let me take their picture - and I didn't want to fuss about it...so here are the photos of the girls! (Wish I had remembered to take a photo of me with the kids).

  1. Looks like you guys had a great day!

One of these days I'd love to chit chat about how you guys got the opportunity to be a host family for an exchange student.

We'd love to do that once our kiddo is older. :) Seems like such a fun and wonderful experience for all.
