Deer in our backyard

I love deer.  I think they are such gentle and graceful animals.  You can imagine my surprise as I was driving into the neighborhood and saw not just one but two beautiful large deer in my neighbors side yard.  I was lucky enough to have my camera with me, but as I pulled it out to take a photo, they started to run away.

Luckily they didn't go too far.  Just to the spot of land where golfers can tee off for the 9th green.  Look how close I was able to get.  They were more afraid of my camera than me.

Eventually they ran down the green back to the woods behind our subdivision.  I wanted to make sure they went that way so not to get hurt by a car or wonder out to the busy roads.  I love all of God's creations and it breaks my heart to see such beautiful animals get hit by cars.  I was so excited to see these deer so close to our house, and more excited to see them return to their natural habitat.
