Week 63 - Rodeo

So transfers was this week and.... I'm staying in Nibley and staying training Sister Vea!!! Also I'm an STL again! I'm so happy to be staying because we have so much work going for us right now. 

Besides that we had a super fun week. Lots of lessons, contacts, and meetings. This week we had Sisters conference, the Martin Harris pageant, and Return and Report. Yep lots of good stuff, plus I had to Drive some sisters around because they got ETd, since we have a car we drove them to their new location...we used so much miles that day. Our zone leaders called us on Saturday and asked us to go to the county fair and contact people. Well I was a little nervous for it since it's a little over whelming when their a lot of people, but it was so fun. So many people talked to us and we even got two free T-shirts, it was great. 

Ohhh another awesome thing that happened this week is I got to see LANSING!!! I taught Lansing all of last summer and then she moved to Texas. In December she came back and got baptized and I got to see it. Well she drove up here from Texas and I got to see her again! She's doing so great. She's getting her PHD, going to institute, loves the temple, and is just doing so amazing. I love her so much! She'll be a life Long friend of mine:) 

I don't want to make this too long... (sorry about my past emails). So much happens in a week and it's hard not to just share all the miracles we experience each and every day. Life is just so good right now. I love doing Gods work. I love preaching Jesus Christ's gospel. I'm excited for next transfer and all the many miracle God will bless us with. Love you all!

Week 31 - Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!

 I cannot believe it's already 2017! I also cannot believe that I have been out for 7 months!! I hit my 7 month mark yesterday January 1st! Missions go by so fast... It's not fair.

So this week was an amazing week! One that has made my mission so far!!
So to start...

This summer when I was with Sister Brunt, we taught this girl named Lansing. If you read my emails then you probably will remember her:)

Sister Brunt and I taught her all summer long for about 3 months. She became our best friend and we loved her so much and still do! We wouldn't even have to knock on her apartment door, we would just walk in; that's how comfortable we were with her, haha! Well her last week in Logan (she was moving to Texas for her PH.D.) she had a prompting to get baptized. We were so excited because we had been asking her to get baptized since we met her. But because it was her last week in Logan she felt it would be to rushed and backed out of the baptism the day before her date in August. Sister Brunt and I were devastated. This hit me harder then any other rejection on my mission. It was because I loved Lansing so much. She truly is one of my dear friends now and I just wanted this joy and happiness from the gospel to help her in her life. Well she moved to Texas and I kept writing her emails on Mondays and didn't really know if I'd ever see her again. Well about a month ago, she emailed me and said she wanted to get baptized. She said that she just keeps getting this prompting to get baptized. So she flew to Logan December 24th and was baptized on December 27th!!!! Sister Brunt and I drove Up to Logan to be there for her! It was seriously the best baptism ever!! The spirit was so strong there. Both Sister Brunt and I bore our testimonies there. It was so great to see Lansing and I already miss her. She flew back to Texas and has been attending church and institute there. MIRACLES do happen. Sometimes we have to patient, but God will always provide away!  I love this gospel so much!

Okay so other things that happened this week:

So I lost the phone 3 times this week!! Yep...I'm the worst. I just kept misplacing it, in people's cars, at the house, I'd leave it at lessons. So I gave it to Sister Sharp and now she's in charge of it because I keep losing it, haha.

It keeps snowing here! On Sunday it was snowing buckets outside and when we knocked on doors people told us we looked like snowmen or the abominable snowman... Yep snow was all over us from head to toe. And we got more than a foot of snow.

We did a lot of tracting this week (like usual). We found some potential investigators, but we just got to make them solid:) We are still teaching Tage and he is getting baptized this Saturday, so excited!!! On New Year's Eve, all the missionaries in my zone had to be in the church from 6-9pm just for safety reasons. We played a nurf gun war...
It was so fun! We played like 3 rounds and man we all had a ball. We were just running all over the church shooting at each other and running/hiding! We then played some knock out and speed ball. It was a fun night and a great New Year's Eve! (We didn't stay up though...Still got to be in bed at 10:30pm, haha).

Marissa Week 10 - Lansing

Hi everyone!
So this week has been a bit sad. We had to hand over all of the people that we were teaching to the elders that now cover that area (roughly around 7 people). Most of our lessons were hand off lessons where we introduce them to the new elders and hope they like them. Elder Larsen and Edmond cover 2nd stake and married 1st stake, Elder Sloan and Fukumoto cover 4th stake and Elder Torres and Shoemaker cover 1st stake.  We covered all of those and are so sad to leave them.

This weeks been a bit slow because we are just knocking a bunch of doors. A lot of people are moving apartments for the fall so it's hard to keep tract of everyone. We have done a lot of service this week. We helped these two member girls paint there house which was fun.  We also helped out at the family place again and were sweeping the dirt off the side walk. We also have been helping people move out or into apartments. It's fun, we will just be walking and then see people who need help packing and will go and help them.

 This week we had mission conference. Our whole mission got together and we took a mission picture. It's crazy how many missionaries we have in this mission, I didn't know like anyone 😳.

This was the first Sunday where we didn't go building hopping to catch all of our stakes since we only cover third stake now. 3rd stake meets at the institute building and we went to two wards today. I bore my testimony in both...I know! I'm way out of my comfort zone now!

Lansing came to church for all 3 hours  and bore her testimony and said "I know this church is true!" We went to her house for a lesson and she said that all through out church she had been thinking whether she should get baptized and was reading 2 Nephi 31 when she got home. She just flipped to that chapter and all it talked about was baptism and why if Jesus was baptized, we need to be baptized by proper authority to follow his example. We are so excited for her and hope she prays about whether she should be baptized.

Well this week was slow but I know it'll pick up soon as people start to move in for school in the fall. I hope everyone is having a great week and loving the end of summer:)
