Betsy goes to ER in pain

So it was a normal night where Mark and I were doing our typical activities… Ate dinner together, Marc had a church meeting so I did some sewing and yard work. Around 1030 we did come follow me together and then Marc went to bed. I still had some sewing to do so I stayed up until midnight. When I went to bed I had a small uncomfortable feeling on my right side just under my rib cage.  I had a difficult time sleeping all night because of the pain or discomfort. The next day I went around the day running errands, shopping,  sewing and doing yard work.  The uncomfortable feeling stayed with me throughout the day and into the evening but as each hour went by it got a little worse. At bedtime I was concerned about the pain but thought I could sleep it off. I knew Marc would not want me to go to the doctor at this time of night because of the extra cost. I was not able to sleep at all, not one minute!  The discomfort became pain and the pain became constant. It also moved to the back of my lungs and to my abdomen. Around 5 o’clock in the morning I just couldn’t take it anymore. I wasn’t comfortable sitting or standing or walking or moving. It was just uncomfortable and painful no matter what I did. Marc drove me to the emergency room where I was admitted and given pain medicine. The pain medicine worked within 10 minutes and I was relieved.  They also did a series of test on my liver gallbladder and pancreas.  They all came back normal. They did an ultrasound on my gallbladder and found a tiny stone inside but said that the stone could not because in this much pain. It’s a mystery. After three hours at the ER I was discharged. I slept or rested most of the day because of the pain medicine. After the pain medicine wore off I did not have any more pain. The doctor thinks it was a gallbladder spasm or attack. I’m just glad I’m not in any more pain!!!

Skin cancer better but now a heart issue

Saturday - February 24, 2018.  On The day that Mark was allowed to start working out after his skin cancer and grafting was the day that he felt a heart flutter. It was three weeks after the grafting- Saturday morning ... As he was leaving Thorton‘s from picking up a soft drink he felt his heart skip beats. He thought it was just that he had worked out too much. He had to pull over on the side of the road because he just felt like he was going to pass out. When he got home he took it easy but he still had a hard time climbing the stairs.

Two days later while Mark was working out at lunch he had difficulty walking on a treadmill. This is when he knew something serious was up.

After work He went to the emergency room.  We found out that Mark has a condition called atrial flutter.  Once again, Mark is not allowed to exercise.  He was put on blood thinners in an attempt to keep him from developing blood clots.  

We see a cardiologist in a few days!!  Yikes!!!

After Mark had been on Eloquis (spelling might be off) for two weeks, the doctor decided it was safe to do the heart procedure.  Mark had to be awake while they slid a scope up through a vein to his heart and saudder a spot on his heart so the random electric repulse would not contract the heart unnecessarily.  

Mark made it through the operation fine.  Unfortunately, the doctors gave him strong pain medicine that made him very sick.  He was sick for over six hours - throwing up, sick and sleepy.  It was awful to see him in so much discomfort.  We finally got to leave the hospital around 9 PM.  It was a long hard day for my sweet Mark.
