After my trip to Tampa/Orlando, Florida representing Chesapeake Hospitality I realized there really wasn't ever going to be true appreciation for all that I have done for this company at the local property where I work, the Holiday Inn Express Louisville Northeast.
I have worked there since May 4, 2017 - working 7 days a week, sometime (most of the time) 10-14 hour days with little or no appreciation. So when it came time for me to go to Tampa on a business trip I asked for one more day there so I could relax and have a "day off." It was approved by Wendy, the GM, but after they fired her, the new interim GM refused to honor the promise.
It was at that point that I realized they truly will never understand all that I have sacrificed, nor will they ever truly appreciate all that I have done for this organization. I also put in my bid to be the new GM a few weeks back, but it was received with a "are you for real" reaction. I was shocked that Marc could be so callous to my desire to serve as the GM.
After both of these incidents, I realized there really is NO advancement for me at this property or at Chesapeake Hospitality and that is why on October 6, I turned in my two weeks resignation - ending on October 20, 2017.
Marc was FLOORED!!!!
